Who I Am
Before becoming an acupuncturist, I was a professional cellist actively performing and teaching. I realized that many of my colleagues were suffering from physical, mental, and emotional issues that did not seem to be resolved by traditional Western methods. There might have been temporary relief, but not a permanent solution.
I believed there had to be another way.
I loved the core concept of Traditional Chinese Medicine that approached looking at the body as a whole and how every part of us was interconnected. Growing up, my parents often took my brother and I to acupuncturists rather than Western doctors for various treatments. There was concern that people might be against more needles being used, but the more I learned and experienced treating patients, the more excited I was to share the news with my colleagues. I learned so much about natural herbal remedies that could help enhance acupuncture results and how beneficial these herbal formulas could be to nearly everyone who came for a treatment.
The road was more difficult than I imagined. Finding time for everything, including sleep, could be a challenge at times. However, I knew I was on the right path to helping people heal and finding a balance to their lives. The more I learned in school the more I knew that I could help my colleagues and those in the community.
I love sharing my music and teaching and currently I am still a professional musician teaching at a university as well as maintaining my private studio and freelancing. Now I am also excited to be sharing my love and knowledge of acupuncture and herbal medicine to all those in the community, and am committed to bringing the best comprehensive and individualized treatments.
